cream puff

A month or so ago I saw lots of posts about the Collection 2000 Cream Puff. I really liked the look of them so I went out and bought my own. Then lost it. Thankfully, yesterday I found it tucked away in a bag of Christmas shopping, so I thought I'd share my thoughts.

I picked up shade 1 in the colour Cotton Candy. It's a really nice, wearable pink.

If you haven't seen these before they are basically lip creams which, instead of acting like a gloss, dry to a matte finish.

I find this to be super moisturising on my lips and love the way it looks. I think I'm going to pop back and get another of the shades as I really love the finish of them.

Collection 2000 lip creams are available in Boots and Superdrug and are priced at the bargainous price of £2.99.

Have you snapped up one of these? What do you think of matte lips?

September Favourites

I know everyone says this every months, but I can't believe how fast the last month has gone. Not long til the fat man in the red suit makes an appearance either! I've bought 3 Christmas presents already and for me this is a big deal - I'm usually rushing around at the last minute so this year, I'm gonna be Miss Organised.

Anyway, on to a few September favourites....

1. V05 Heat Protect styling spray - I spray this on towel dried hair to help with styling and texture, and also it gives heat protection up to 230 degrees. It smells really nice and does not weigh my hair down at all.

2. Collection 2000 Super size Mascara - I reviewed this about 2 months ago and I loved it then and still do. I have been wearing this almost daily as it's a really great all round mascara. Cheap as chips too!

3. Sephora Paris Palette - I love this palette as the colours are really versatile and can be worn day or night. I also love the blusher colour in the compact. So pretty.

4. Soap & Glory Righteous Butter - One of my all time favourite body butters. I rediscovered it last month and it's as good as I remember. So moisturising and it smells amazing.

5. Trevor Sorbie Beautiful Volume Shampoo - I've been using this shampoo for months now and I adore it. It's one of the only shampoos I have found to really give my hair a lift.

Super Size

In case you are wondering...I have changed my blog name. Just fancied a change and when I first started my blog I did not really think about the name just called it the first thing off the top of my head. So I'm now World of Beauty...

Anyhoo...

I picked up this mascara last week. I don't know how new it is, I've never seen it before but I often walk around in a bubble so this does not necessarily mean anything. It was the bright pink colour of the packaging that first attracted me... (shallow, moi?).

The fact that it was only £2.99 was also a big attraction. Having tried out quite a few different mascaras over the years I think that you definitely don't have to spend a fortune to get good mascara.

The brush is also quite large and I like that. I also like that it's not a plastic comb as I really dislike these wands.

I took some before and after pictures so you can get an idea of how it performed...

Before

After

As you can see my eyelashes are definitely defined and look a lot thicker. The formula is quite wet, so there was no clumping, but it wasn't so wet that it made a mess of my eye area when I blinked.

I'm extremely happy with my little bargain buy. Have any of you guys tried this? And do you think that high end mascara equals better quality?

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer

I think I may be the last person in the world to try out this concealer.

OK, that's perhaps a teeny tiny exaggeration, but it seems this product is everywhere on the blogosphere and almost everyone had good things to say about it. So I decided to try out for myself.

I'm pretty lucky in that I never really get too spotty on my face. If I break out it's usually on my chin and they're generally not horrific. So I'm not in need of cement like concealer which applies an inch thick. I like concealers with a nice, smooth consistency and that blend in well with my skin tone. The shade I use in this product is 2. Fair.

I am really impressed with this concealer. It applies really well. I use the applicator to apply it to the areas I want to conceal then use my finger to dab it in. It covers really well and doesn't look cakey. As for the 16hr wear, I'm not so sure, but it definitely wears well. I use my powder to set it and it does me for the day. And it's so cheap, it's such a bargain.

What do you guys think of this? And what are your favourite concealers?

Collective NOTW

I never have a true NOTW as I very rarely wear the same polish for a week. But at the same time, it would be untrue to post a NOTD as I wear it for more than a day, providing there's no major chippage! So, I surmised I would post a series of finger fashion, showing what I wore on my nails over the course of a week.

This week I have been mostly wearing...

This is Rimmel's Grey Matter with a top coat of China Glaze's Fairy Dust, which I only recently bought. I love how pretty this makes my polish and it's very very sparkly. The only downside is that it takes elbow grease to remove the glitter polish. Worth it though!!

I jumped on the yellow nails bandwagon and purchased Collection 2000's Hot Looks in Lemon Soda, Apologies for the awful glare on the bottle but the colour on my nail is true to life. I'm still undecided about yellow nails. I think they would look great with a tan, but I just felt like I had custard fingers. Maybe one to try again...

Last, but not least, and quite possibly my favourite is Barry M's Berry Ice Cream. I only bought this on Monday and I am definitely in love. It's a gorgeous pastel lilac. It took two coats to appear opaque and it applied like a dream. I only wish it was scented and actually smelled like berry ice cream...yum!

What are your summertime fingertip favourites??
