NYX glitter cream palette - help!

My boyfriend, being the clever little cookie that he is, saw me lusting after this before Christmas, therefore I was very happy to find this in my stocking.

It is of course the NYX glitter cream palette in the colour 'royal violets'.

The colours are so gorgeous, sparkly and just completely lust worthy, but I have a problem. I don't know the best way to apply it. I just went barging in with the little foam applicator (not wanting to mess up my brushes) into the gold colour and put it on my lids, but it creased almost immediately. This was also with the use of a primer. I tried my finger as well, gently smoothing it on but still no luck.

Can anyone tell me the best way to apply these? I am desperate to adorn my eyelids with these gorgeous glitters....

FOTD - Pink To Make The Boys Wink

I am not normally a girl for pink eyeshadow. I find it a really hard colour to pull off, but I wanted to show you a look I created recently using pink eyeshadow. I wore this recently when I went Christmas shopping with the boy, but I definately think this is a look that can be pulled off day or night.

I used a pink eyeshadow from my Sephora Pin Up Show Palette

The pink on it's own is a bit lairy, but I applied MAC's constructivist paint pot as a base, then the pink shadow. This made it a bit darker than how it shows here, but still very much pink. I then warmed up the eyes by using Hustle from the Urban Decay Naked Palette and finished off with Studio Makeup Eyeliner Pen and lashings of Maybelline Colossal Cat Eyes mascara.

I am really pleased with the final look and one I shall definitely be recreating very soon.

What do you think? Are you a fan of pink eyeshadow?

Constructivist

This is my first ever MAC paint pot, and I got it while back when I won a giveaway held by the lovely Radhika.

At first, I wasn't sure how the colour would work with my skin tone, I thought it might be awfully dark and that I wouldn't get much wear out of it, but I was wrong...

As you can see, the colour is a rich mahogany bronze. Really deep and multi tonal, it looks gorgeous worn along or with a lighter highlight colour in the inner corner. I also really enjoy wearing this as a base for my eyeshadows. I've found it to be a great compliment for almost every colour in my UD naked palette and most of my other shadows. It functions great as a base in that it helps my shadows stick, keep them in place all day and no creasing. A real winner in my opinion and I'm now dead keen to pick up Bare Study, which I've seen raved about in the land of blog.

MAC paintpots retail at £13.50.

What MAC paint pot do you love? Or are they not worth the money?

Oooh La La...Sephora Paris Palette

I got this little beauty as part of a giveaway prize from the lovely Louise at Get Lippy...thank you!!

As soon as I saw it I was instantly excited. As you know I only just had my first ever trip to Sephora and to get some more goodies was great. Also, who doesn't love Paris <3

The packaging is really sweet, it's shaped and styled like a Sephora carrier bag with some Parisian landmarks printed on the front, and the signature Sephora stripes on the side.

The two red straps at the top can be pulled to open up the palette.

Inside there are 8 shimmery eyeshadows and one matte. The colours are really wearable and pigmented. My favourites are light shimmery champagne/brown in the top left hand corner and the matte brown in the bottom left hand corner.

There are also two sections that pop out of each side of the palette, one containing 4 pretty lip colours and the other has a shimmery pink blush. Again, the colours are really wearable and the blush is gorgeous.

Since I've had this I've used it almost every day. I think it's a great palette for everyday use. It's really compacts so a great size to pack in your handbag and the mirror inside is really useful for on the go touch ups.

Have any of you guys tried this palette? What are your faves from Sephora?

I ♥ Sephora

So as I mentioned in my last post, on my recent trip to Krakow I got to lose my Sephora virginity! It was a special moment that I shall look back on fondly....

Enough of that, lets get to the good stuff! What did I get??

All my purchases were Sephora's own brand, since I haven't had the opportunity to try it before and because it was 3 for 2! HA.

Here's my treasure...

First thing I got was this eyeshadow palette in No.13 Pin up show. There were loads of different colours to choose from, but I went for this since I don't really have any pinks, and I really love the sparkly pink/burgundy colour.

The colours are really versatile and look lovely either on their own or blended in to create a sexy smoky eye. This cost me 75 PLN which equates to roughly £18.

Next, I got this lipstick in the colour 02 Glamour. It's a really gorgeous light pink, and it has a really nice glossy sheen. It's swatched here on the left. It cost 39 PLN or roughly £10, and this was my first freebie :)

The colour on the right is the 3rd item I got, is this lip gloss in the shade The Red Shiny.

What I love most about this is it can be worn as a sheer light red gloss or it can be built up to a very opaque true red which is not at all sticky. This cost me 45 PLN, which is roughly around £11.

The next day I returned to Sephora again (much to the delight of the boy...not!) and picked up 3 nail polishes. They cost 19 PLN each, around £4.50 and I got one of them for free. Score.

L-R
I'm A Rich Girl - A dense sparkly gold
Jealous - Pretty pinky coral
Teeny Bikini - A beautiful minty green.

My favourite of the 3 is Teeny Bikini. It applies like a dream and looked lovely after 2 coats.

What are your Sephora must haves?

January Favourites

Good Morning Girlies...

So glad it's finally the weekend!

Just wanted to share with you all my favourite products from the month of January...

1. Maybelline The Falises Volum Express Mascara.
I recently reviewed this mascara (click here) and if you've already read it you'll know I absolutely love it. It gives me full and thick lashes as well as added lengh, without the icky clumping.

2. No7 Stay Perfect Eye Mousse in Pewter.
I really love this eyeshadow. I actually got it as a freebie in a No7 giftset and hadn't tried it until recently but the colour payoff is excellent and it's really longlasting and doesn't crease. It makes a great base for other shadows, and is just as lovely on it's own.

3. Clinique Super Moisture Make Up in 04 Ivory.
I've been using this foundation religiously for a couple of months now (reviewed here) and i am still in love with it as ever. It's really moistuising so is great for my dry patches and it makes my cheeks look really dewy and youthful.

4. E45 Moisturising Lotion
This is definately one of my holy grail products and I always find myself repurchasing. It's great on my face for an everyday moistuiser, great to use all over my body and I also use this if I want to mix some in with my foundation to give a sheerer coverage. AND it's cheap, so what's not to love.

5. MAC Venomous Villians Blush in Bite of an Apple.
When I first bought this I thought it was really bright and wasn't too keen on it, but around Christmas time I started using it and I found, if used sparingly, I could create a gorgeous 'Just been out in the snow' rosy glow. Even though the snow has now gone, I'm still enjoying faking this look.

6. ELF Lipstick in Runway Pink
I've had this lipstick for months now and I think I've worn it almost every day in January. It's just one of those lovely nude pinks that doesn't make you look dead. I think it's very flattering with my skin tone and I always use it with a lipbalm underneath to stop it drying my lips.

There we have it. January summed up in 6 bullet points. Do any of these products appear in your favourites?

I Got Naked!!!

No, not literally.

The Naked Palette to be precise.

Yaaaaahooo!

After looking at it lovingly for ages, I finally got it for Christmas from my lovely Brother & Sister-in-law! Thanks guys!
I won't do a long post swatching every colour 'cause you've probably seen them all a million gazillion times. I just want to point out my two faves.

Sidecar and Smog are my two favourite shadows from the palette and have been making an appearance together on my eyelids almost everyday since Christmas, but the other colours are so deliciously beautiful also, it really does make choosing my eye make up a difficult decision. HELLO having to get up ten minutes earlier!! Hehe.

I Can't Stop Buying ELF!!!

'Ello Luvvlies

I have a problem.
A BIG PROBLEM.

I can't stop buying from ELF!!!

So last week I got a few more little goodies. I just can't help myself it's just great value.

Firsly I got the Studio corrective concealer.

I honestly dunno how I feel about this product. In theory, it should be great. A green colour to conceal redness, a pink colour to conceal dark undereye bags and two skin tones to conceal anything else. But, I'm just not impressed. The consistency of the product is very hard. I mean, I had to dig the end of my brush in to budge the first lot. And it didn't gather well on my brush either. I tried using my fingers too which gave a little better effect but to be honest it's not something I find myself reaching for. It gives okay coverage but I definately wouldn't repurchase.

Next is the defining eye brush and the concealer brush.

I love the eye brush. It's really soft and fluffy and though it's marketed as defiining, I really enjoy using it as a blending brush. It's small enough to fit right into the corners and sweep right out through my crease to my brow bone! Thumbs up!
The concealer brush is essentially a good brush, I'd just prefer a little more of it. It's teeny tiny and for me, I prefer a bigger concealer brush. Can't grumble too much at £1.50 a pop!

Finally we have the Eyelid primer and the duo eyeshadow in berry mix.

I am totally a fan of the eyelid primer. I have not tried the Urban Decay primer potion so I cannot compare but I am definately noticing big improvements in my eyeshadows lastability (?...think I made that up??)

The duo eyeshadow is the 2nd of this range I have.

A closer look.

It's called berry mix but it's definately more of a chocolate brown with a slight burgandy hint. Not clear in the pic I know. The lighter colour is a pale frosty pink, almost white. I love this as a highlighter on my brow bone. The consistency of the eyeshadow is great too. Not finding a huge amount of fallout, which for me is a biggie!!

I'm already eyeing up my next trip to http://www.eyeslipsface.co.uk/ as I just love it. I have to admit, as I found with the corrective concealer, there are a few misses. But this has to be expected with every brand. I'd much rather pay £3.50 for a fail than £23.50!!!

Hope your all having a lovely week.

MUA

Hey everyone.
I know I am late on the bandwagon with this stuff but my local Superdrug has only JUST started stocking the MUA range. If you by any chance have not heard of MUA it's Superdrug's own make up brand where each item costs only £1!! YES ONE POUND!!

So I'd seen lots of blogs and YT vids on this and thought I'd try them out. Firstly I got 2 eyeshadows.

Shade 14 Left, shade 7 Right

And just be awkward it's back to front in this pic!! As you can see shade 7 is a lovely pearl green colour and 14 is a gorgeous slate gray colour. Both shadows are extremely pigmented and the colour is soo buildable. I used these two colours to create my FotN look in my previous post.
So as I was so impressed by these two products, I hot footed it back to Superdrug to pick up some more goodies!!

So, clockwise from top left we have shade 10, shade 20, shade 8 and eyeliner shade 4.

I Wish, I Wish

Hey dolls hope you have all had a lovely Bank Holiday Weekend!! I've spent today strolling around the very sunny capital, Edinburgh. Shopping, sight-seeing and lunch with my boy :)
I got some lovely stuff from Lush which I will show you in a separate post very soon. I just wanted to share my wish list with you. Some items which I am planning on picking up very soon. Hope you enjoy.
The Body Shop Baked to Last Bronzer

The Body Shop have some amazing new make up products and these bronzers really caught my eye. Similar marbling and veining as the MAC MSFs but without the high end price tag. I shall be purchasing soooooon!!

Sleek I-Divine 12 piece Storm

I am loving the colours in this palette!! Great every day colours. I do not own any Sleek products but heard good things. My local Superdrug does not stock Sleek so I will need to perhaps purchase online.

Elf and Mac Haul

Hellooo girls.

So the past two days I've had a lovely package waiting for me when I've arrived from work. They were much anticipated and I couldn't wait to open them. Thought I'd share with you what I recieved:

Firstly, the ELF products:

Quite a collection...

I got 4 brushes....

From top to bottom - ELF professional total face brush, ELF professional foundation brush, ELF professional eye liner brush and ELF angled foundation brush.
So far I have used the foundation brush and the face brush. The foundation brush is really soft and smooth - no shedding on your face and it just blends your foundation in really well. A winner for me!! The face brush again does not shed and it really soft and fluffy. I have used this for both all over powdering and bronzing and so far I have had no problems. I will review these brushes again later to see how they stand the cleansing test...

I also got a clarifying pressed powder in the shade Honey and a tone correcting concealer also in Honey. I've only swatched the concealer and my first impressions are good. It blends well and leaves no sticky residue. It also smells really nice, which in my opinion, is a bonus.
