Ardell Natural Style Lashes

I love fake lashes. In the past I've mostly stuck to the Eyelure range, but recently I decided to pick up some Ardell natural style lashes, and I got these in 105 Black.

As you can see, the style is nothing crazy. Full, natural lashes. These also come with a sachet of lash adhesive, which you have to tear open. This is the only negative for me as you can't reseal and the glue would be dried up if you wanted to reuse the lashes.

They have a pretty thick band and were extremely easy to apply.

I was really impressed with the way they looked once applied. They really help define the eye but are not at all over the top. I am definitely going to repurchase these, as I think they are my new favourite lashes.

What are your favourite false lashes?

MUA Extreme Felt Eyeliner

I'm a big fan of the MUA range. So when I was in looking for their new Eyelid Primer (which wasn't in stock in my local Superdrug) I picked up the new Extreme Felt Eyeliner.

The one I got was the last one, so I don't know what other colours, if any, are available.

The pen itself looks like any other felt tip pen. You remove the cap and it has a pointed felt tip. Pretty simple really. The tip is pretty flexible, but not so much that you can't get a decent line. From the swatches below you can get an idea of the thickness of the line it produces and also how easily the pen can be manoeuvred across your skin. It doesn't stick or drag unlike some other eyeliners I've tried.

The colour payoff is also pretty good. It's not a deep dark black on first contact, but if you go over it a second time it looks amazing, and once it's dried, it doesn't smudge. It's not at all waterproof though so that maybe something to watch.

The only minor problem I found with the liner was that there didn't seem to be a steady flow of product from the pen to the nib, and I found the tip sometimes got a bit dry so I had to replace the cap and shake the pen a bit. Not a major problem, just a small annoyance. For £2 this is an extremely great eyeliner and one which I would happily repurchase.

Models Own Nail Polish

I'm sure like many of you did, I picked up some nail polish in the Models Own 50% sale. I had a few problems with my order but I can honestly say Models Own gave some of the best and speediest customer service I have ever witnessed! Thumbs up MO!!

Anyways, here's what I got...

L-R we have
Juicy Jules
Gold Finger
Slate Green
Pink Fizz
Bloo Bloo

& up back is the Nail art pen.

I'm really pleased at the formulation of these polishes, and especially the glitter ones. The volume of glitter is immense, and looks equally as good on top of another colour, as it does layered up on its own.

I struggled to capture a great photo of these, but I do plan on some nice NOTM's with these to show them off in the way that they deserve. Also, expect Gold Finger to show up in my Giveaway which will be coming to a screen near you very soon!!

What's your fave Models Own??

The Only Way Is???

So, I jumped on the bandwagon and purchased Lauren's Way fake tan...

I got this on a really great deal, the tanning lotion and mousse for £20, and I picked up a tanning mitt as well.

I've yet to try this, but I have a hen night this weekend so I shall be applying it on Thursday night. I don't know which one I'm going to use, perhaps the mousse. Can you let me know which one you prefer?

I like my tanning to be as simple as possible. I've read great reviews about this so my hopes are high. I shall let you know how I get on, and also share some hen night shenanigans.

NOTM

A quick post this morning...I've changed this title to NOTM - Nail of the Moment. I wear a nail colour for longer than a day, but less than a week therefore for the moment, here's my nail colour -

Barry M - Navy

I find this colour one of the hardest to apply, because its so dark and shiny the slightest smudge, or bit of dust shows up on this. But the time and effort is worth it, as you can see its such a gorgeous deep colour but also really sparkly and shiny. Perfect for autumn.

I've Got A Lovely Tub Of Coconuts...

I picked up a tub of the Superdrug Coconut Oil a while ago, having never heard of it before. It claimed to help skin, scalp and damaged hair, and it cost about £2 I believe (just went to double check on website but couldn't find it - I bought this instore about 2 months ago) so I decided to give it a go.

It comes in a round tub like this and contains 125ml of product. The packaging is nothing special I have to say, pretty plain.

It was really hard to photograph the product, but basically it comes in solid form, but melts into it's oil form with the heat of your hands. It's quite easy to grab some on your fingertips. The scent is beautiful. Obviously, if you're not a fan of coconut then give it a miss, but I love it.

The way I use this product most is as a moisturiser. I take a small bit on my fingers and massage it into any dry areas. It's great for elbows and knees. As it's an oil it can be slighty greasy if you use too much, this is why I tend to stick to any problem areas.

I have also used this as a scalp treatment. I occasionally suffer from a dry scalp and I found this does really help. I took quite a large amount, let it melt in my hands and worked it in all over my scalp. Now this leaves you looking pretty gross. I left this on for about an hour, but the directions state you can leave this on all night if desired. I had to rinse my hair a few times to get this out, bearing in mind when it cools down a bit it does sort of return to a solid consistency (trust me it's not attractive - one for when you're on your own). I found my scalp to be no where near as dry and obviously it left my hair smelling gorgeous.

The third way this can be used is as a leave in conditioner. I have not used it this way as my hair gets oily quickly anyways and I don't require any additional greasyness.

Overall, for the price I really recommend this product as an intensive moisturiser for body and scalp. It is amazing for the price and it's long lasting scent is a winner for me.

Have you guys tried this?

A Little Haul-age

I need to stop doing that. Adding 'age' to the end of words. It really annoys my boyfriend and it's starting to annoy me now too. Oh well, on to the postage....

I just thought I'd share with you some of the little non beauty pieces I've picked up over the last week or two.

First jewellery

Feather drop earrings from New Look.

I've wanted feather earrings for a while now, and I have bought a new dress to wear to a party very soon, which has red roses on it, so thought these would go very well.

Owl Ring - New Look

I really fell in love with this ring. I know Owl designs have been around for a while now but this is different to any of the others I've seen and I just adore the bling round the eyes.

Aztec Print Earrings - Primark

I'm sure you've all seen these a millions times as everyone seems to have picked these up. I don't own any other earrings like this, and I think they make a great statement piece in anotherwise plain outfit.

Small Black Satchel Bag - New Look

I picked this up as I thought it was so cute, satchel bags are still big just now and this is dressy enough to take out at night, but just as wearable in the day time. And it was only £12.99.

Blue and Leopard Print Pumps - Primark

We all know you can't have too many pairs of shoes, and at £4 a pop you might as well get some in every colour.

I am hoping this will be my last haul in a while. I'm putting myself on a spending ban for the rest of the month, so for once I'm not spending my whole salary on clothes and makeup. I've already purchased some Model's Own and some Laurens Way thought, so posts to come on these soon.

update - I wore the feather earrings to a party last night and have lost one. Gutted :(

Batiste Big & Bouncy XXL Volume

If you've read any of my other posts, you'll know my hair is fine, flat and gets oily quickly. I often wish I had the type of hair that I could wash every few days, wake up in the morning and go. But for me, I need to wash, dry and style every morning and layer with an abundance of volume boosting products.

So whilst browsing the aisles in Superdrug last week I picked up the new-ish Batiste Big and Bouncy XXL Volume dry shampoo.

I've never been a religious user of dry shampoo, mostly because I wash my hair everyday and my hair is too oily on the 2nd day for dry shampoo to make a difference.

The main attraction for me was the XXL volume that this product promises.

After I dry and my hair I spray a bit of this on my roots and work in with my fingers. My hair is obvoiouly not greasy at this point but the boost it gives to my hair is amazing. My hair feels thick and volumised but with no sticky residue in my hair. It also has a really nice fresh scent.

I find that when I apply this in the morning, my hair doesn't look as lank at the end of the day, which is also a massive bonus.

I'm not quite at the stage where I can go two days without washing, but maybe someday I will find a product that allows this but for now this product is making me very happy.

I picked this up half price in Superdrug - BARGAIN!!!

What's your favourite dry shampoo?

Lip Tattoos???

So today I was having a little nose on the Topshop website when I came across these.

Lip Tattoos...

Have these been about for a while and I've just been in a world of my own?

What do you think? I personally would not use these, I'm all for a bold lip but for me, this is a step too far.

These are currently retailing for £12.

Constructivist

This is my first ever MAC paint pot, and I got it while back when I won a giveaway held by the lovely Radhika.

At first, I wasn't sure how the colour would work with my skin tone, I thought it might be awfully dark and that I wouldn't get much wear out of it, but I was wrong...

As you can see, the colour is a rich mahogany bronze. Really deep and multi tonal, it looks gorgeous worn along or with a lighter highlight colour in the inner corner. I also really enjoy wearing this as a base for my eyeshadows. I've found it to be a great compliment for almost every colour in my UD naked palette and most of my other shadows. It functions great as a base in that it helps my shadows stick, keep them in place all day and no creasing. A real winner in my opinion and I'm now dead keen to pick up Bare Study, which I've seen raved about in the land of blog.

MAC paintpots retail at £13.50.

What MAC paint pot do you love? Or are they not worth the money?

Cable Crazy

As Summer sadly says goodbye, I am embracing Mr Autumn, and welcoming him with open arms. I love everything (okay, almost everything, rain excluded) about Autumn. The colours, the crisp fresh air and of course, Autumn clothing.

I relish in the thought of furry boots, knitted jumpers and cardigans, hats, scarves and ear muffs.

However, at the moment I have an enormous craving for cable knit. Tights that is.

I think these will be my must have for the coming season....

MAC Zoom Lash

I picked up MAC Zoom Lash a few weeks ago. I'd heard mixed reviews on this mascara, but I can't resist a new mascara and decided I'd quite like to get my little paws on it.

As you can see, the packaging is what we've all come to love and expect from MAC, simple yet sleek.

The wand is a large-ish bristle brush, which is my favourite kind of wand. Great for adding volume.

I do like this mascara, it applies easily and evenly. I have long lashes, so the main reason I buy mascara is for the volume. You can see the results from the following pictures...

before

after

My lashes do look much more defined but it doesn't give the the oomph that I have come to expect from my mascara. I'm not totally writing it off, I am very happy to use this as an everyday mascara, but will still look elsewhere when looking for that something extra. The formulation of this mascara is quite thick, and it dries quite quickly which I think makes it harder to achieve the dramatic look. It's dry before you can do a second coat therefore it doesn't take as well and starts to look a bit cakey. For £13.50, I think I'd rather spend my money elsewhere.

Have you tried any MAC mascaras? What's your opinion?
