Big and Beautiful.

That's how I like my hair. Sadly, my hair is somewhat lacking in the volume department so last week I picked up some goodies in the hope that I could put some life back in my locks.

I had saved up quite a few points on my Boots Advantage card so decided to use them to buy my goodies.

The first three items are from Trevor Sorbie. (These are currently 3 for 2)

Beautiful Volume Hairspray

This claims to be a day long hairspray which is designed to hold your 'do in place without weighing it down. I've not yet managed to put it to any serious styling tests yet, but so far it seem like a decent hair spray and it doesn't have that usual choke-me hairspray scent.

Beautiful Volume Thickening Shampoo

This shampoo smells lovely and fresh and lathers really well. After blow drying I can definitely feel a difference in body in my hair and it feels really nice and soft. I'd definitely recommend this and I will repurchase as I think it has become a new favourite.

Beautiful Volume Volume Booster

This styling spray should be used on towel dried hair to help boost volume after drying. I do like how this adds volume to my hair but I feel like you need to be careful not to use too much as it does leave a bit of stickiness in your hair if overused. It also has added heat protection which is a bonus.

All 3 products cost £5.10 each.

The final product I got was one that I'd heard a lot about and that I was keen to try.

Schwarzkopf Got2be Powder'ful Volumizing Styling Powder.

As stated in the name it's a styling powder which focuses on adding instant lift and body to the roots. You sprinkle some powder onto your fingers and work it into your roots. The powder disappears and you're left with good lift and texture which gives the hair a voluminous appearance. It's a great instant boost however the powder does leave a residue in your hair so it doesn't leave you free to run your fingers through your hair. I think this is a great product to use when backcombing and creating a style which needs lots of height.

Veet Suprem Essence

I've always been a boring shaver. Have dabbled with waxes and creams in the past, but always returned to my trusty Gillette Venus razor. I think it's the quickest, and most painless hair removal method, the only downside I can think of is the trauma it causes my skin. I don't suffer too badly with ingrown hairs, however my legs feel pretty dry after shaving and I have to slather on the moisturiser in order to disguise the feeling.

So it was with much intruigue I purchased the Veet Suprem Essence In-Shower hair removal cream.

As you can see you get a 135ml tube of the hair removal cream and a little double sided sponge. It isn't too clear here but the top side of the sponge is white and much rougher than the pink underside. I used the pink side to spread the cream on to the desired location oh hair removal (for me it was legs) left for a minute and got in the shower. I didn't really want to get it wet, but it said to leave it on for only 4-6 minutes so I just decided to stand beside the stream of water and wait.......................................!

6 mins later I took the sponge and began using the rough pink side and the shower hose to rinse my legs clear of the cream, which by the way, did smell pretty nice, especially to begin with, but then I got whiffs of that not so lovely hair removing cream smell, which I guess you get with them all so it was to be expected. Once I'd removed all the cream from my legs, they did feel very smooth. They were however pretty red, I don't know if that was just the cream or a combination of the cream and buffing it off with a rough shower. However, there was no burnt or cracked skin, like I've heard with other hair removing cream horror stories. My legs felt tingly, but in a good way.

Overall, I was really impressed with the product and my silky smooth legs, but I do just find the whole process a bit of a faff. That's why I like shaving. In, out, bang, done! I 'll defo use the rest of this up, I reckon I'll get another 2 uses out of the tube. Whether I'll repurchase depends on the next time it's on offer (hehe).

Hair Dilemma - Help

Hola Ladies

Just a quick post, I'm stuck! I'm having my hair cut today and I'm in a total quandry. Long or short?

Last year I had my hair in a pretty little bob, which I loved. It was easy to manage, made my fine hair look thicker and looked good. But I found I couldn't do much with it and I had to style it everyday as it was too short to be tied back. Here's how it looked..

So since March, I have been growing it out and it's now well past shoulder length. You can see my current hair length in my Girly Weekend post from a couple of weeks ago.

I am now stuck as I have spent 8 months going through that awkward inbetween lenght so I can have long girly hair, but now I have it I don't know what to do with it. As it's so fine it can often look a bit lack lustre and I have been embracing the wavy, curly, backcombed look, which I do like as well.

Soo please, your input would be very much appreciated.

Holy Grail Hair Product...

Just thought I'd leave a quick post to share my HG hair product.

Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance.

I use regular conditioner around once or twice a week. As I've said I have fine hair and conditioner tends to not only weigh it down and make it lank if overused, but also make it far too soft to work with. Basically not great. So I picked up this little beauty. At first I was worried. Would a leave in conditioner be even worse? But I was curious. So I tried. And I liked.

First off the smell. Aahhh that smell. If you've used it you'll know what I mean. I can't describe or liken it to anything, all I know is it's exquisite.

I spray this on towel dried hair every morning before blowdrying. It detangles very well.

It contains jojoba seed oil which helps to protect my locks. I love the way it makes my tresses feel. Silky smooth without being weighed down. And that beautiful smell lasts all day.

I've been using this product everyday for about two months now and am suitably impressed!

Also, I love the Aussie Philosophy...

Va..Va..Volume

Hi Girlies ♥

Hope you're all having a lovely Sunday! I'm currently having a lil lazy day. Me and the boy got up and went shopping in Stirling, which is about half an hour from where I live. It's so rainy here right now so we just stuck to the shopping centre. Had a little wander around Primark and picked up a few goodies :) Then headed for a Subway (YUM) then home.

I just thought I would let you guys know about my favourite volumising hair product.



Angel Fish StyleAngel Big 'N' Sexy Volumising Spray.

As I've mentioned in previous posts I have quite fine hair, so injecting volume that LASTS is my biggest challenge. Especially if I am preparing for a big night out. I came across this product in Boots about a year ago and now I am never without a bottle of this on my dressing table.

It smells gorgeous. Kinda coconutty without being overpowering. I spray it on to towel dried hair and then blow dry. It also contains a 220º heat shield, It gives my hair lots of lovely volume but doesn't feel sticky or heavy. And the effect really does last.

Volume...Heat Protection...Gorgeous Scent.

What more could a girl want?

Ins and Outs - August 2010

Hey lovelies...

So instead of this being picture heavy, I'm just going to do a short and sweet in and out post this evening. Lets dive straight in...

♥ Smooth, soft skin. Recently I've been all about the moisturising. Each evening after my bath I've been covering myself in Johnson's Dreamy Skin Relaxing Body Lotion. It has a lovely lavender scent, which is great for bedtime and great for my skin. On my feet I have been using Vaseline Feet and Legs Stimulating Lotion which is soo refreshing. It contains menthol and eucalyptus so feels very zingy when applied. I like feeling something working.

♥ Volumised hair. I am having a hair-mare at the moment. I'm growing out my bob which is causing me so much stress. My hair falls just on my shoulders at the moment meaning - hello flicky-out hair. So to combat this I've been curling my hair pretty much every day with my GHD's. Lots of mousse and hairspray and much back combing!!

♥ Pretty toe polish!! I love painting my tootsies and mixing it up each day. My two current faves are No7 stay perfect in Milan and Rimmel 60 seconds in Coralicious.
