Recently I Have Been....

1. Painting my nails far too much. I'm struggling to keep a polish on for one day!! I get bored so easily and want something different everyday. HELP!

2. Dying my hair. I picked up a new hair dye last weekend on a whim and decided I fancied a change. I used L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss in Mahogany. To my disappointment, it isn't as noticeable as I'd have liked, so I think I'll pick up another redder colour soon.

3. Back on track with Scottish Slimmers. I lost 1st 2lbs on Scottish Slimmers in my first 8 weeks, and I've hovered round about the same since. This week though, I've cut out the crap and spent time planning my meals, and I'm hopeful it will pay off on Wednesday.

4. Shopping too much!!! I know, I never thought it was possible to shop too much, but I've discovered it is. Hello sad bank balance :(

What have you been doing recently?

A Disappointing Buy...

How disappointing is it when you buy a product that just doesn't live up to your expectations...

After reading some really positive reviews about L'oreal Volume Million Lashes, I picked it up from Superdrug last week. I got the extra black version and I checked out the wand and thought it looked really great.

The first thing I noticed was the smell, as soon as I held it up to my face ready to apply I could smell an awful chemical stench. Not pleasant, but if it gave me beautifully voluptuous lashes I would be willing to put up with the smell for a minute until it dried. However I was somewhat disenchanted to discover it didn't do much...
The mascara was really easy to apply, I really do like the wand as it's so smooth. My lashes were very black, yes, and they were very separated. But not the voluminous lashes I'd hoped for. The formulation is very wet and smudged when I blinked. Not great. The worst part however, was that my eyes stung/watered like hell from that chemical smell. I just wanted to take it straight back off. And I did. Yeuch.

I was really shocked to discover this as I normally really love L'oreal products, and even my own Mum raves about this mascara. When I asked her she said it didn't make her eyes water but I do not consider myself to have sensitive eyes and haven't experienced this from any other mascaras. Could I have just gotten a bad one? Have any of you guys tried this and what do you think?

So all in all, it's a thumbs down from me.

L'Oreal Superliner

Hey Guys.

I don't know if you are aware but at the moment if you spend over £15 on L'Oreal make up in Boots you get a lovely free gift! My mum recently treated herself to some new foundation and recieved the gift, so I was straight in there to see what I could find...

I think it's really good value as you actually recieve 3 full size products, along with some other samples. The full size products are Glamshine 6hr lipgloss, Chrome shine eyeshadow and Superliner liquid eyeliner.

So here is the liner. It's in the colour black, and it's now mine!
My mum doesn't really wear liquid liner so kindly said I could have it.
The tip is really fine, but quite sturdy. I find it really easy to use and create a smooth, fine line. I ofter find liquid liners too wet and messy but not this. It has a long lasting finish and it's definately one of my top freebies of the year!!

Have any of you guys tried this? Or do you swear by another liquid liner? Let me know.

Scrub a dub dub...

Hi Lovelies.

Just back from spending a perfect day with my boy at the beach. It's been soooo hot today so decided to make the most if it, we hardly ever get weather this good in Scotland. Here's a wee pic of us dipping our feet in the sea :)
bliss...

Anyways, this evening I wanted to share my thoughts on the new L'oreal Perfect Clean face wash. If you haven't heard of these yet here are the 3 available in the range:

Nothing special right? Wrong.

The reason I was so attracted to this product is the unique scrublet that is attached to the packaging. The product I chose was the foaming gentle scrub which is the exfoliating one. The first this you notice when you open the packaging is the smell. Oh the smell...mmm. I don't know how the others smell but this is divine. It actually smells like you are smearing nectarines on your face. Very fresh and fruity.

My skin is a little hit and miss to be honest. Its either dry or oily and hardly ever in between so I do struggle to find products to suit my skin. I have been using it every day for almost 2 week. I love the deep clean it gives my skin and you can see any left over make up or dirt on the scrublet once you've washed. It's very gentle and does not feel like you are actually scrubbing your face. More like a pleasant massage. As for results, I've definately noticed a reduction in any dry patches I had on my face and my make up  is definately going on much smoother. I don't feel like it's done much for any oily patches I have, which are mainly on my forehead and nose.

I'm definately going to see this product out as I love the scent and the feeling of my face immediately after cleansing. And provided I'm not enticed by any other new product, once this is finished I will definately consider re-purchasing.

Let me know your thoughts on this product, or any other in the Perfect Clean line.

Hope you've all had a lovely sunny Sunday.
