Not Goodbye

As you may have noticed, posts on my blog have become very irregular of late and it's honestly because I seem to have lost my way with my blog and felt it was not me any more. I thought long and hard about what I wanted to do with it and the types of posts I wanted to do.
It is after much consideration I have decided to start over and have created a new blog. It will still consist of beauty and fashion, but also other sneaky peaks into my life.

So if you have taken the time to read this I would very much appreciate if you could take the time to pop over to my new blog and take a look. As I said, I'm starting over so please bear with me until I get it looking exactly as I want, but even so far, I feel it's just a bit more 'me'.

I appreciate everyone of you who have taken the time to follow and read my blog, I hope to see you all very soon over at Lipstick And...

Thank you x x

opi rainbow connection

I did it. I am a sheep.

I purchased OPI Rainbow Connection at the beginning of last month on ebay. It took ages to arrive as it was being shipped from the US, but the wait was DEFO worth it. She's beautiful.

Sigh...

I adore the eclectic mix of colours, sizes and shape of the glitter and I think it would look great over almost any base colour, or indeed layered up on it's own.
In this picture I've layered it over ELF's white polish, on my trusty nailene falsies, and I am very happy with the result.

What's your take on glitters?

la roche-posay effaclar m

I first picked up this product about 6 weeks ago whilst browsing Boots in search of a new moisturiser. I'd heard a little about La Roche-Posay but had never tried any of their products. The Effaclar M interested me the most as it is marketed as a mattifying moisturiser, and I, having combination/oily skin decided to give it a bash.

First of all, I really like the packaging. It's nice and simple, and it has a really handy pump. I find this helps control how much is dispensed each time - one pump covers my whole face - and it also keeps the process hygienic.

The product itself is like a white gel, not at all creamy. I like this as it doesn't make my skin look or feel greasy, it completely mattifies my skin. It also makes my face feel really soothed and soft.

Overall I'm really impressed with this moisturiser and has fast become a staple in my skin care routine. This is where I now have a dilemma as I'm nearly at the end of my tube and I'm on my no beauty spend...hmmm I definitely think this is classed as an essential, don't you?

What's your favourite moisturiser for oily skin?

NYX glitter cream palette - help!

My boyfriend, being the clever little cookie that he is, saw me lusting after this before Christmas, therefore I was very happy to find this in my stocking.

It is of course the NYX glitter cream palette in the colour 'royal violets'.

The colours are so gorgeous, sparkly and just completely lust worthy, but I have a problem. I don't know the best way to apply it. I just went barging in with the little foam applicator (not wanting to mess up my brushes) into the gold colour and put it on my lids, but it creased almost immediately. This was also with the use of a primer. I tried my finger as well, gently smoothing it on but still no luck.

Can anyone tell me the best way to apply these? I am desperate to adorn my eyelids with these gorgeous glitters....
